The climate for Central Oregon is predominately a high desert arid climate. Summer temperatures range from highs in the mid-80’s to a lows in the mid-40’s. Winter temperatures range from highs in the mid-40’s to lows in the mid-20’s. Temperature and precipitation varies for each city in Central Oregon based on proximity to the mountains and elevation.
Average annual precipitation for Central Oregon ranges from 8-12 inches. With little rain fall Central Oregon averages over 250 sunny days a year. The high desert climate with warm sunny days and cool nights appeals to many visitors.
