Hooker Creek Event Center

imageThe Hooker Creek Event Center, a multi-purpose indoor arena, is the largest of the buildings that constitutes some 279,000 square feet of space under one roof. It can handle 7,800 for a concert, 4,000 for a rodeo and 5,000 for basketball; the building is capable of hosting virtually any kind of performance. While the performance aspect of the building is a very noticeable feature, the Event Center has over 40,000 square feet of concrete floor space and over 28,250 square feet of space on a circular concourse. Large concession stands are placed on each end of the building and all public entrances contain ticket booths. The Event Center is wired for television broadcast complete with satellite hook-up and intercom connection. It has a built in sound system capable of handling multiple microphones, playing CDs, tapes, and supporting numerous other pieces of sound equipment on a 23 channel mixing console. The building boasts a score clock for sports, a hidden conduit for broadcast cable, and over 800 amps of power. In addition, overhead beams are capable of supporting approximately 75,000 pounds of sound and light equipment to “fly” the show when required.

imageIn addition to an event office, several other spaces can host support activity such as security, first aid, and offices. The building features ample restrooms easily accessible from the two-level building. Attached to the structure is a covered warm up arena for equestrian and livestock events. It is also used to store dirt, which is pushed in and out for equestrian and livestock events.
