Join rodeos across the state to celebrate the 2025 Miss Rodeo Oregon:
Mary
Makenna Olney grew up on the Warm Springs Reservation. This is where
she developed a deep love for animals, rodeo, and the western way of
life. Growing up, she was always engaged in learning about her rich
native culture.
Mary
graduated from Madras High School in 2019 with Honors. She participated
in Soccer, Cheer, Softball, National Honor Society, and Student Council
during that time. She was active in the Lyle Gap 4-H Club and President
of the Madras FFA chapter.
In
the Fall of 2019, Mary set off to achieve a welding certification at
Tulsa Welding School in Oklahoma. She took on a career in fabrication
that would provide for her and her horses while she worked towards her
long-term career goals.
Recently,
Mary has taken a new career path as a certified nursing assistant. This
new career path is giving her great patient care experience as she is
currently working towards her biggest career goal of becoming a
pediatric nurse.
In
her spare time, Mary loves helping her community and spending time with
her horses. She enjoys going on trail rides, learning new skills, and
attending gaming competitions whenever she has the opportunity.
Mary
will travel many thousands of miles during 2025, representing Oregon
rodeo and Miss Rodeo Oregon Inc. Foundation. She is an ambassador for
Oregon’s western heritage and lifestyle. She will also represent Oregon
at the Miss Rodeo America contest in Las Vegas in December 2025.
